Latvia enjoys a temperate climate, where the summers are warm and mild, with average daily temperatures of roughly twenty-five degrees celsius. Winters can be very cold, and snow covers the ground in some regions for up to four months of the year. The winters are mildest close to the coast, and harsher inland. Rainfall occurs throughout the year, with August normally the wettest month.
